Iranian short ‘The Snail’ to run at Unknown Film Festival

Iranian short ‘The Snail’ is to compete at the Unknown Film Festival in Russia.

Iranian short ‘The Snail’ has been scheduled to compete at the 2019 Unknown Film Festival (UFF) in Russia.

Directed by Mohammad Torivarian, ‘The Snail’ will participate at the Short Films competition section of the Russian event.

The short film narrates the story of three young boys who are being smuggled into Turkey from Iran by a man who only passes males through the border. The smuggler realizes something strange in the middle of the road and a conflict starts.

Azita Hosseini, Babak Kazemian-Moqaddam, Hossein Mehrpeyma, and Afshin Maleki are among the cast.

‘The Snail’ won a Special Mention at the 14th International Oriental Film Festival of Geneva in Switzerland and went on screen at the 3rd Beloit International Film Festival in the US.

The UFF accepts submissions categories of Short films, Documentary short films, Music video, Visual Arts, Animation, and Mobile video.

Screening of finalist works will take place on June 28 in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

The 2019 edition of the UFF is slated for June 28-29.
